Robert Burton Oberndorf, J.D., graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in Communication in 1989, and from Case Western Reserve University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree in 1993.  He is currently admitted to the Ohio Bar and has been practicing law for over fourteen years.Robert practiced environmental, construction, contract and real estate law, including litigation, for a regional water pollution control district in the United States for eight years before moving to Southeast Asia to work as an international legal consultant in 2001.  He has been working and living in the region since that time, and has worked for ADB, FAO, IFAD, GTZ, Danida, East/West Management, Community Forestry International, World Bank, WWF and others on issues relating to natural resources and environmental law, land management and governance reform. Robert is currently the Asia-Pacific Regional Project Coordinator for the VERIFOR and Pro-Poor Tenure, Markets and Trade Projects at the Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand, and is a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil’s Verification Working Group.
