Sebastian von Stauffenberg is CEO of MicroRate, Inc. He manages the ratings services of all three regional offices as well as its investor services. Recently he helped launch Luminis – the first microfinance fund information platform for investors. Since joining MicroRate in 2003, he has served as the General Manager of the Latin American & Caribbean office in Lima, Peru. At the end of 2008, Sebastian returned to MicroRate’s headquarters in the Washington, D.C. area and was appointed as Managing Director & CEO in the spring of 2009.

Sebastian holds an MBA from Georgetown University (Washington, DC), a Philosophy degree from Regina Apostolorum in Rome and an Economics degree from Virginia Tech. Prior to joining MicroRate, Sebastian taught philosophy and theology and was a senior consultant for Arthur Andersen in Germany.
