Senior international executive and entrepreneur with significant experience in banking, corporate turnarounds, start-ups and business development of financial, industrial and service companies, Piero Grandi assists project owners in bringing their plans to reality. Among others he is presently working on several projects related to biochar, in Europe, Africa and Asia.

Piero Grandi has a Cum Laude degree in Economics at Rome University (Italy). He made a banking career working for City Bank (Rome, Milan, London, Frankfurt) from Executive Trainee to Unit head of WCG, responsible for global relationships with Italian multinationals Fiat, Montedison, Olivetti and Ceat, Citicorp (Milan, New York, Naples) as Board and Executive Committee Member of Banca Centrosud and Head of the Consumer and Private Banking business since 1985. He is also a Board Member of Citigroup Italian mutual fund company, American Express (Paris, London, Milan) as American Express CO, Head of International Personal Financial Services & Insurance (PFSI) (29 countries) as well as Chairman and CEO for France & Italy and Lloyds Banking Group (Geneva, London) as Managing Director of Global Private Banking.

In parallel he created Grandi and Partners SA in 2003, a Swiss consulting and venture capital company, which he is running since September 2011 as CEO.

He had also former business experiences, mainly with Finagra Corporate Advisors Ltd., creating F.C.A. organizational and strategic consulting services with offices in London and Rome, Ekoground spa, as Investor and MD of this Italian waste recycling company, successfully sold in 1992 to the Group Gompagnie Generale des Eaux, and Maglificio Calzificio Torinese spa as CFO of the textile company operating the Kappa and Jesus brands.
