Larry Abele is one of the founding partners of Auriel and focuses his efforts on developing the equity market neutral program. Prior to founding Auriel Capital in 2004, Mr. Abele was a managing director at Deutsche Asset Management, where he pioneered a global investment program as Head of the Quantitative Strategies and Portfolio Engineering Group. Prior to joining DeAM in 2000, he worked as a researcher at Barclays Global Investors. Mr. Abele started his career at First Quadrant working as researcher and portfolio manager for currency overlay accounts. Mr. Abele completed his MPhil at Cambridge University in 1996 after spending four years travelling by foot as part of the Global Walk for a Liveable World. In 2007 Mr. Abele was named one of the twenty “rising stars” in hedge funds by Institutional Investor Magazine.
