Sarita has more than 25 years experience in working with responsible investing, corporate responsibility, and energy and the environment. She is currently an Investment Manager dedicated to social, environmental, and governance at Norfund, the Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries. Prior to joining Norfund, she was responsible for KPMG-Norway's Sustainability Advisory Services from 2007 to 2009. In 2003, Sarita started IN2SRI, a consultancy that advises clients, including corporations, investment research companies, investors, foundations, and NGOs, on responsible investment. From 1995 to 2003, Sarita was responsible for the development of the responsible investment program at Storebrand, one of Norway's insurance companies. Sarita worked on diverse projects focusing on energy and the environment as a Research Economist and Guest Researcher in the Research Department at the Norwegian Central Bureau of Statistics from 1989 to 1995, and as a Senior Research Associate at the Ernest Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory at the University California Berkeley from 1984 to 1990.

Sarita is a Senior Research Fellow at the Norwegian School of Management’s Centre for Corporate Responsibility and is an Associate Director at the UK-based Sancroft. She is the Project Leader of the Norwegian Research Council Funded project, The Norwegian Sustainable Investment Forum (NORSIF) Initiative. Previously, Sarita chaired the board of the Swedish Sustainable Investment Forum (SWESIF) and Cornland International AB. Sarita holds a B.A. and M.A. in Economics.
