Mr. Arnould became head of the Global Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Fund in 2009. He previously was Senior Officer in the European Investment Bank’s African Caribbean and Pacific department where he specialized in financial sector operations. Prior to joining the EIB in November of 2003, Mr. Arnould was a Senior Investment Officer in the International Finance Corporation’s SME department, which he joined after four years with IFC’s Financial Markets Group, Sub-Saharan Africa Department. He was previously IFC's Senior Investment Officer based in Moscow, Russia. Prior to joining the Corporation, Mr. Arnould worked in Russia for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), first as the Investment Manager for Smolensk Regional Venture Fund and then as EBRD's Principal Banker. His other professional experience includes Business Planning Manager for Eurodisney's. Mr. Arnould graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques, Université Robert Schuman. He also received a Masters in Law from Université Robert Schuman and holds an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Mr Arnould is currently chairman of the board of Access Microfinance Holding AG, Rural Impulse Fund SA SICAV-FIS, Advans SA SICAR. He also serves on the board of MicroCred SA, Investisseur & Partenaire pour le Développement, ShoreCap International Limited. He previously was a board member of Africap Microfinance Investment Company LTD. He also heads the microfinance center of expertise of the European Investment Bank Group.
