Michael Jantzi, Chief Executive Officer Sustainalytics, has been active in the social investment field since 1990. Subsequent to founding Jantzi Research Inc. in November 1992, Michael developed theCanadian Social Investment Database TM, the country’s first database that tracks the environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance of Canadian corporations. In January 2000, Jantzi Research launched the Jantzi Social Index®, a market capitalization-weighted common stock index consisting of 60 Canadian companies that pass a setof broadly-based ESG screens.Michael is one of Canada’s leading spokespersons on social investment and corporate social responsibility issues. He is the co-author of The 50 Best Ethical Stocks for Canadians: High Value Investing,published by MacMillan Canada. Michael was the recipient of an Ethics in Action Award in June 2001, in recognition of his significant contribution to corporate social responsibility and social investment in Canada. Michael serves as a board director of Boston-based KLD Research & Analytics, Inc. (KLD), was appointed to the Task Force of the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy’s Capital Markets and Sustainability program, and sits on the Advisory Circle of the TIDES Canada Foundation. He is a former director of Canada’s Social Investment Organization. Michael holds degrees from the University of Western Ontario and Dalhousie University.
